Our client is looking for a Procurement Manager from the Manufacturing industry to join their team in Midrand. The role involves leading the procurement and purchasing category for a major manufacturing division, developing sourcing strategies, overseeing operational activities, and ensuring procurement processes align with company standards and group practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for cost optimization, supplier management, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies aligned with company objectives

  • Coordinate and direct procurement operations and team members

  • Build supplier relationships and negotiate contracts

  • Implement procurement processes and ensure alignment with compliance frameworks

  • Identify and pursue cost-saving opportunities (target R2.5 million annually)

  • Handle procurement budgeting and reporting

  • Manage supplier performance and resolve disputes or non-conformances

  • Provide training on procurement best practices internally

  • Engage with various internal departments to support business alignment

  • Drive continuous improvement across procurement operations

  • Lead by example, upholding values of integrity, respect, and customer focus

Requirements:

  • 3-year BCom Degree or Diploma (SAPICS / CIPS Certification advantageous)

  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in a strategic sourcing or procurement role

  • Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills

  • Strong leadership capabilities and people management experience

  • Sound knowledge of procurement systems and materials management

  • Resilient, analytical, and able to manage high-pressure situations

  • Familiarity with manufacturing environments and raw material sourcing
