A leading logistics company is looking for an RFQ Administrator to join their team in Pietermaritzburg. The company is a well-established provider of abnormal road transport solutions, offering services to the mining, construction, project cargo, and agricultural sectors. They are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive individual to manage the end-to-end Request for Quotation (RFQ) process, ensuring efficient communication and timely responses to client inquiries.
Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and process RFQs from clients
Coordinate with internal teams (operations, finance, and marketing) to gather information for accurate quotations
Prepare and submit competitive quotations within agreed timelines
Act as the primary contact for RFQ-related client communications
Provide excellent customer service and follow up on submitted quotes
Maintain an up-to-date database of RFQs, quotations, and client interactions
Track and report on RFQ success and conversion rates
Ensure all quotations comply with company policies, pricing structures, and regulations
Verify costs, timelines, and service details for accuracy
Collaborate with sales, operations, and finance teams to ensure alignment in service delivery
Support logistics in identifying cost-saving opportunities
Propose and implement improvements to the RFQ process
Stay informed about industry trends, competitor pricing, and market conditions
Requirements:
Matric (Grade 12) required
Diploma or degree in Logistics, Business Administration, Finance, or related field is advantageous
2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in logistics or transport
Knowledge of abnormal transport operations, permits, and load configurations is advantageous
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Strong numerical and analytical abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
High attention to detail and accuracy
Strong customer service orientation
Good problem-solving and time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
