A leading Property Development and Management company is looking for an experienced Borehole Pump Technician / Supervisor with strong technical expertise in borehole systems and water management to join their team in Gauteng. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional to oversee specialized equipment and maintenance, conducting field visits and ensuring optimal performance across various sites. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the installation, repair, and routine maintenance of borehole pumps, motors, and related water infrastructure.
- Conduct regular site visits across Gauteng to monitor borehole performance and identify potential technical issues before they lead to downtime.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical faults in pumping systems, including control panels, sensors, and piping.
- Monitor water levels and flow rates to ensure optimal yields and coordinate water quality testing as required.
- Manage and lead a team of junior technicians or external contractors, ensuring all work is completed to safety and quality standards.
- Maintain detailed records of site visits, repairs, and equipment performance to provide regular updates to management.
- Ensure all borehole operations comply with local water regulations and health and safety protocols.
Requirements:
- A relevant technical qualification or trade test in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Extensive hands-on experience in the installation and repair of borehole pumps and submersible motors.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or lead technician role, specifically within the water or industrial equipment sectors.
- Deep understanding of borehole control panels, variable speed drives, and water flow monitoring systems.
- Ability to travel frequently for site visits and field inspections throughout the Gauteng province.
- Proficiency in diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical faults under minimal supervision.
- A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record for mobile field work.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations related to water infrastructure and electrical installations.
