A leading food manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Workshop Foreman Co-ordinator with strong experience in managing maintenance stores, ordering parts, stock control, and general workshop operations to join their team in Kempton Park. The role includes overseeing procurement of engineering spares, maintaining optimal stock levels, equipment calibration and record keeping, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain a purchasing framework for engineering goods, stores, spares, and equipment.
Place orders for engineering spares, stock, and equipment, and manage the purchasing process.
Maintain optimal stock levels and conduct stock takes in engineering and maintenance stores.
Monitor workshop team and environment to ensure compliance with OHS and government requirements.
Keep accurate records of inspections and scheduling.
Liaise with operations to prioritise jobs according to production requirements.
Work with quality assurance to ensure food safety, product quality, and compliance with specifications.
Conduct assessments to identify limitations and improve work efficiency.
Maximise material yields and minimise waste through the value chain.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement.
Requirements:
Qualified artisan with at least 5 years of relevant working experience.
Experience in running a maintenance store, ordering parts, stock takes, and managing equipment.
Industry-standard equipment knowledge and technical expertise.
Experience in the food industry will be an advantage.
SYSPRO experience would be advantageous.
Understanding and experience with equipment calibrations, legal inspections, and record keeping.
Exposure to Lean Manufacturing is an advantage.
Strong team-building and people management skills.
A strong sense of urgency with good decision-making and analytical ability.
Adequate business and management knowledge (budgeting, planning, resource allocation, HR).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to lead by example and demonstrate accountability.
