A leading FMCG company is looking for an experienced SHE and Risk Administrator to join their team in Cape Town. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially astute administrator to provide administrative Health & Safety support to the Operations team as required. The role involves identifying potential risks on-site, conducting regular inspections to identify non-compliance, and implementing mitigations or corrective actions. If you have experience in Health and Safety, Environmental, Risk Assessments, FMCG, and Warehousing, we want to hear from you!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Health & Safety management inbox, accident forms, and general queries.
  • Coordinate the development of health & safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate SHER awareness initiatives and communications.
  • Proactively identify on-site threats to worker health and safety and order the suspension of such activities.
  • Conduct regular on-site inspections to identify non-compliance, near-misses, and unsafe acts.
  • Compile detailed safety reports as required.
  • Implement mitigations and corrective actions.
  • Assist with developing mitigating plans to prevent future problems.
  • Assist with conducting risk assessments and ensuring their regular review.
  • Coordinate audits for allocated projects and ensure alignment with the company's Contractor Management System.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Health and Safety, Environmental, Risk Assessments, FMCG, and Warehousing.
  • Grade 12 qualification.
  • SAMTRAC qualification.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, E-mail, and MS PowerPoint.
  • National Diploma in Safety Management is advantageous.
  • Courses in SHEQ management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 18001) are advantageous.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment training is beneficial.
  • Accident investigation techniques training is beneficial.
  • First Aid certification is beneficial.
