An established company is seeking an International Channel Development Manager to manage and optimise the international logistics network, ensuring efficient and cost-effective movement of goods across borders, particularly within Africa and in Roodepoort, Gauteng.
This position plays a pivotal role in supporting the company’s international growth strategy by enabling seamless supply chain operations, reducing costs, and improving delivery performance.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Logistics Management
- Develop and implement an international logistics strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
- Optimise shipping routes, modes of transport, and cost structures to improve efficiency and reduce lead times.
- Develop and monitor KPIs for logistics performance and report cost-saving initiatives to leadership.
Third-Party Provider Management
- Identify, negotiate, and manage contracts with international 3PLs, freight forwarders, and customs brokers.
- Monitor performance and conduct regular business reviews to address service gaps and improvement opportunities.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with international trade laws, customs regulations, and internal company policies.
- Oversee import/export documentation, customs clearance, and tariff optimisation.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks related to geopolitical or regulatory changes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Procurement, Sales, Finance, and Operations teams to forecast demand, plan inventory, and manage order fulfilment across markets.
- Support new market entry and expansion initiatives by ensuring logistics capabilities align with local requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field.
- 6–8 years’ experience in international logistics, supply chain, or business development.
- 8–10 years’ experience collaborating with senior management and cross-functional teams.
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel internationally.
