Job Description

Hire Resolve's client is looking for a Workspace Engineer to join their team in Port Elizabeth, EC. The Workspace Engineer provides expert technical support and solutions for a Windows 11 environment, including laptop reimaging, software deployment, SCCM configurations, AD onboarding, Office 365, and Azure cloud migrations. Initially focused on M&A projects, the role transitions into daily operations. Working closely with global IT teams, the engineer optimizes workspace systems for stability, security, and efficiency, ensuring a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

Laptop Reimaging & Configuration (Project-Based)
  • Develop and maintain efficient laptop reimaging processes.
  • Create and update standard images with security patches and software.
  • Automate imaging for efficient deployment.

Software Delivery & SCCM Management

  • Design, build, and deploy software packages via SCCM.
  • Monitor SCCM for compliance, software distribution, and updates.
  • Manage OS deployment and software configurations.

Intune & Device Management

  • Configure and manage Intune policies, MDM, and MAM.
  • Handle application deployment, compliance, troubleshooting, and reporting.

Office 365 & Cloud Migrations (Project-Based)

  • Execute Office 365 migrations (email, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams).
  • Assist with Azure cloud service migrations.

Desktop Engineering & Support

  • Deploy and manage Windows 11 laptops globally.
  • Perform advanced hardware/software troubleshooting.
  • Maintain documentation and standardize processes.

Active Directory & Azure Integration

  • Manage user accounts, security groups, and access controls in AD/Azure AD.
  • Implement and maintain security policies and group policies.
  • Monitor Active Directory health.

Security & Compliance

  • Ensure endpoint security and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams on best practices.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Work with global IT teams to optimize desktop solutions.
  • Provide training and support to IT teams and end-users.
  • Create technical documentation and reports.
Requirements: 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent work experience accepted.
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
  • Experience with endpoint security solutions.
  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and service delivery processes.
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in desktop engineering and IT support roles.
  • Expertise in Windows 11 OS, Microsoft SCCM, Azure Active Directory, and Entra ID.
  • Hands-on experience with Office 365 migrations and cloud infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (PowerShell preferred) for automation.
  • Strong knowledge of security best practices for endpoint devices.
