A leading plastics manufacturing company is looking for an experienced trade-tested Maintenance Electrician with a Wireman’s License, strong expertise in electrical maintenance, electrical reticulation, and building services to join their team in Bellville. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted operations by conducting preventative and corrective maintenance, performing fault finding, and supporting new equipment installations. This role will report directly to the Plant Engineer.

Responsibilities:

  • Limit operational downtime through effective fault finding and quick resolution of electrical and service-related issues.

  • Conduct routine inspections to identify and address faults timeously.

  • Perform maintenance on electrical reticulation, water supply, compressed air systems, and air conditioning.

  • Complete job cards thoroughly and ensure scheduled maintenance is carried out.

  • Propose and implement improvements to reduce corrective maintenance.

  • Assist with electrical and service supply installations for new equipment.

  • Liaise with stores and supervisors to ensure spare parts availability.

  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in the workshop and work areas.

  • Adhere to safety legislation and company safety procedures.

  • Support management systems such as Pragma, ISO9001, NOSA, and WCM.

  • Coach and guide apprentices and less experienced artisans.

Requirements:

  • Matric certificate.

  • Trade-tested Electrician with N3 and a Wireman’s License.

  • 5–7 years’ experience in an electrical maintenance role, preferably in a building services, utilities, or manufacturing environment.

  • Well-developed problem-solving skills with a methodical and analytical approach.

  • Ability to work independently while being a strong team player.

  • Good communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.

  • Good timekeeping and adherence to instructions and safety standards.
