Our client is looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join their team in Hermanus. The company operates a large agricultural packhouse facility focused on the processing and packaging of fresh produce for local and export markets. The successful candidate will assist with maintaining and repairing key equipment to support smooth, uninterrupted operations during peak production periods.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on pumps, filters, and related systems

• Assist with general maintenance of machinery and infrastructure

• Troubleshoot mechanical issues and implement effective solutions

• Support senior maintenance personnel as needed

• Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards

Requirements:

• 3–5 years’ experience in maintenance, specifically working with filters and pumps

• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Physically fit and capable of manual work

• Basic knowledge of tools and maintenance procedures

• Salary: negotiable.
