Job Description

A leading organisation within the construction and engineering sector is seeking a highly capable Finance Manager CA(SA) to oversee and manage the full finance function at one of its operations in Zimbabwe. This is a senior, hands-on role requiring strong technical accounting expertise, commercial acumen, and the ability to operate in a complex, project-driven environment

Responsibilities

  • Full financial management of the business unit, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management

  • Preparation and review of monthly management accounts and variance analysis

  • Oversight of statutory compliance, including tax, audit, and regulatory requirements

  • Manage and control project and contract accounting, including cost tracking and profitability analysis

  • Lead and develop the local finance team, ensuring strong financial controls and governance

  • Liaise with head office, auditors, tax advisors, and external stakeholders

  • Provide commercial and strategic financial input to operational and executive management

  • Ensure adherence to group financial policies, procedures, and internal controls


Requirements 

  • Chartered Accountant (SA) – CA(SA) qualification

  • 5–7 years post-articles experience

  • Fluent in both Afrikaans and English (spoken and written)

  • Willingness to be based in Zimbabwe

  • Proven experience in a project-based or contracting environment (construction, engineering, infrastructure, mining, or similar industries preferred)

  • Strong understanding of IFRS, financial controls, and management reporting

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines

  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills

  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability
