Job Description: Resident Engineer – Hire Resolve
Position: Resident Engineer (RE)
Contract Role: 1 Year duration
Salary: R70,000 - R85,000 per month
Location: Cape Town International Airport
Hire Resolve is seeking an experienced Resident Engineer (RE) for their client to oversee a Taxi lane Upgrade Project at Cape Town International Airport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage daily operations on-site for the Taxilane Upgrade Project at Cape Town International Airport, ensuring compliance with project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Supervise and coordinate construction activities, ensuring quality control and timely project completion, especially during night shifts in a highly restricted airport environment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to construction teams and subcontractors, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
- Conduct site inspections, audits, and material testing to ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Maintain accurate records of project progress, site activities, and quality assurance documentation.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and stakeholders, addressing any technical or project-related issues.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards, particularly in high-risk environments like airside operations.
Requirements:
- ECSA Professional Registration (Technician, Technologist, or Engineering Human Resources).
- Minimum of 3 years post-registration experience.
- 8-35 years of overall consulting engineering experience.
- Proven experience in at least 3 road asphalt construction projects as a Resident Engineer or in Materials Services, with a minimum of 20 projects listed on your CV.
- Extensive experience in high-level road construction/design, with airport experience considered an advantage.
- Must be prepared to work night shifts for the duration of the project (approximately 1 year).
- Experience working in highly regulated, restricted live operational environments, particularly within airside areas of airports, is essential.
- Previous experience on municipal or regional road projects is valuable, but must meet ACSA's default minimum requirements for the role.
