A leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Maintenance Foreman with strong technical expertise in production environments to join their team in Polokwane. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven Foreman to oversee plant maintenance, minimize downtime, and lead a technical team through effective planning and resource optimization. Responsibilities:

  • Achieve maximum production output by minimizing downtime through effective maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules to ensure continuous plant availability.
  • Supervise, train, and motivate the maintenance team, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and safely.
  • Oversee and assist with complex repairs, particularly involving PLCs (Siemens S7), variable speed drives, and electrical control circuits.
  • Manage and optimize the utilization of materials, spares, and manpower within the department.
  • Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring all activities remain within financial constraints.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and company safety standards.
  • Identify opportunities for technical improvements to enhance plant efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and safety inspections.

Requirements:

  • Relevant National Diploma or qualified Trade Test (Millwright or Electrical).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or maintenance environment.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role within a manufacturing setting.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs (Siemens S7), variable speed drives, and electrical control circuits.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficient in budget management and resource optimization.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
