A leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Maintenance Foreman with strong technical expertise in production environments to join their team in Polokwane. This is an exciting opportunity for a results-driven Foreman to oversee plant maintenance, minimize downtime, and lead a technical team through effective planning and resource optimization. Responsibilities:
- Achieve maximum production output by minimizing downtime through effective maintenance of machinery and equipment.
- Prepare and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and schedules to ensure continuous plant availability.
- Supervise, train, and motivate the maintenance team, ensuring work is carried out efficiently and safely.
- Oversee and assist with complex repairs, particularly involving PLCs (Siemens S7), variable speed drives, and electrical control circuits.
- Manage and optimize the utilization of materials, spares, and manpower within the department.
- Monitor and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring all activities remain within financial constraints.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and company safety standards.
- Identify opportunities for technical improvements to enhance plant efficiency and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and safety inspections.
Requirements:
- Relevant National Diploma or qualified Trade Test (Millwright or Electrical).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a production or maintenance environment.
- Proven experience in a supervisory or foreman role within a manufacturing setting.
- Working knowledge of PLCs (Siemens S7), variable speed drives, and electrical control circuits.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Proficient in budget management and resource optimization.
- In-depth knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA).
