Job Description

A leading manufacturing and installations company specialising in aluminium and glass systems is looking for an experienced Installation Manager with strong experience in installation planning, process control, and team leadership to join their team in Stikland, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring installations are completed to specification, within required timeframes, and in compliance with safety and building standards, while driving operational excellence across the installations function.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, schedule, and prioritise installation activities based on capacity and deadlines
  • Coordinate workflow between installation teams and internal departments (manufacturing, design, procurement)
  • Ensure all installations meet quality standards and technical specifications
  • Monitor installation progress and proactively address delays or risks
  • Implement and enforce quality control processes during installations
  • Manage labour productivity and track time vs allocated time per project
  • Control material usage, handling, and storage
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and standards
  • Lead, manage, and develop installation teams, including training and performance management
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and operational readiness
  • Communicate progress, risks, and updates to management and clients
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in an Installation Manager or similar role within construction, aluminium, or glass systems
  • Strong understanding of installation processes, workflow planning, and coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Knowledge of building regulations and compliance standards
  • Experience managing teams, resources, and project timelines
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure
  • Solid understanding of quality control, cost control, and productivity management
  • Good communication skills with the ability to engage with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Strong leadership, accountability, and attention to detail
