Responsiblities
Prepare, assist with, and submit accurate VAT, PAYE, Provisional Tax, and Annual Income Tax returns (e.g. EMP201, EMP501, ITR14) for multiple Distributors.
Ensure full compliance with SARS, CIPC, and other relevant regulatory bodies (including Rest of Africa tax authorities where applicable).
Monitor and manage all tax and regulatory filing deadlines to ensure timely submissions.
Engage proactively with Distributors’ external accountants to ensure coordinated compliance efforts.
Liaise directly with SARS on tax queries, audits, objections, and verifications.
Communicate with Distributors regarding tax-related queries, documentation requirements, and submission deadlines.
Support Distributors in maintaining organised tax records and compliance documentation.
Ensure proper archiving of all supporting documents for audit and future reference.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records for multiple Distributors.
Ensure proper transaction classification, account reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies.
Support monthly management reporting, including preparation and review of financial statements.
Prepare and analyse monthly Profit & Loss and Cashflow statements to assess performance, liquidity, and funding requirements.
Develop and update financial forecasts and budgets to assess profitability and sustainability at Distributor level.
Identify financial trends, variances, and emerging risks, escalating key concerns with actionable recommendations.
Perform ad hoc financial calculations and reporting as required.
Provide training to Distributors and their staff on financial and accounting processes.
Promote financial acumen, operational efficiency, and sound business practices.
Build and maintain positive working relationships with Distributors.
Address account-related queries promptly, professionally, and accurately.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
3–4 years’ experience in a tax or compliance-focused role.
Experience within tax or consulting firms, managing multiple clients or entities monthly.
Proven experience preparing, reviewing, and submitting tax returns.
Strong working knowledge of SARS eFiling, EasyFile, and related systems.
Advanced Excel skills.
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle (essential for business travel).
