Position: Senior Standards Officer - Mining
Location: North West
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement and maintain standards, policies, procedures and guidelines for the mining department in compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure adherence to the established standards and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide guidance and support to team members in understanding and implementing the standards effectively.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to stay updated on industry trends and changes in regulations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, safety and environmental sustainability.
- Ensure that all mining activities are carried out in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 / Standard 10.
- Minimum of 5 years mining experience as an appointed Standards Coordinator or Chief Safety Officer or
Mine Overseer.
- Trade Certificate or Blasting Certificate or Mine Overseer Certificate will be an advantage.
- MS Office suite – essential
