A leading metering and utility solutions company is looking for an experienced Sales Manager with strong expertise in leading high-performing sales teams, developing sales strategies, and managing key accounts to join their team in Jet Park, Johannesburg. The successful candidate will oversee a small but effective sales team responsible for Gauteng, Free State, North West, Limpopo, and Mpumalanga, ensuring the achievement of sales targets and growth objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior management with the compilation of annual sales targets and budgets.

  • Achieve or exceed annual and monthly sales targets for the region.

  • Lead, mentor, and manage sales representatives, ensuring they have the necessary support to meet their targets.

  • Maintain and update the CRM system with sales data and key account information.

  • Personally manage relationships with key accounts and agents.

  • Oversee sales coordinators to ensure timely loading of orders and provision of quotes.

  • Ensure accurate categorisation of sales in the company system.

  • Contribute to quarterly pricing and product range reviews.

  • Assist with debtor recovery for overdue accounts in the region.

  • Gather and report market intelligence on competitors, new entrants, and industry developments.

  • Lead the preparation and submission of tenders for the region.

  • Produce marketing case studies showcasing client success stories.

  • Participate in marketing activities, campaigns, and activations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years’ sales experience, with at least 5 years in sales management.

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.

  • Proficiency in English and at least one other local language.

  • Strong strategy formulation, implementation, reporting, and presentation skills.

  • Ability to travel outside Gauteng for approximately two days every three weeks.

  • Experience in a related industry (e.g., plumbing supply, civil supply, utility, metering) is advantageous.
