A leading mining and resources company is looking for an experienced Supervisor Materials Management with strong experience in warehouse operations, inventory control, supplier coordination, and materials management processes to join their team in Gauteng. The role focuses on optimising procurement, storage, and distribution of materials while ensuring compliance with safety, risk, and operational standards.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the Health and Safety of the team by applying relevant standards and procedures.
Perform inspections in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
Contribute to a culture of Zero Harm through adherence to legislation, policies, and procedures.
Support efficient service delivery to internal and external stakeholders.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
Manage teams and suppliers in line with agreed SLA’s, ensuring timeous and optimised delivery.
Coordinate and control direct materials management requirements.
Plan and optimise warehouse and materials management activities.
Administer data in the materials management system and maintain integrity of stock information.
Ensure accurate inventory for reservations, stock received, and current stock levels.
Participate in audits of material management processes and implement findings to reduce risk and improve best practices.
Requirements:
Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 equivalent.
Certificate or Diploma in Materials Management or related field.
Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory experience in a materials management environment, preferably in the mining industry.
Strong knowledge of mining machinery, equipment, and components.
Proven experience with warehouse monitoring, stock control, and storekeeping procedures.
Proficiency in MS Office, Materials Management Systems, and SAP.
Strong planning, prioritisation, organisational, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure, manage conflict, and maintain accuracy with strong attention to detail.
Medically fit for the position and environment (standard industry requirement).
