A leading electronics manufacturing company is seeking an experienced SMT Supervisor to oversee and manage Surface Mount Technology (SMT) production lines at their facility in Pinetown. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional with a deep understanding of SMT processes, quality assurance, and lean manufacturing practices. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment uptime, maintaining high quality standards, and leading a skilled team to achieve On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily SMT operations to ensure uninterrupted production schedules.

  • Assign and supervise SMT Operators, Quality Controllers, Material Handlers, and AOI Technicians.

  • Approve first-off builds and ensure compliance with IPC quality standards.

  • Monitor and improve SMT machine setup, programming, and solder paste handling.

  • Conduct team performance reviews and manage training programs.

  • Host daily production meetings and prepare efficiency reports.

  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and support audits.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Electronics, Manufacturing, or related field.

  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in SMT or electronics manufacturing.

  • Strong knowledge of SMT processes and IPC standards.

  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and production planning.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
