A leading engineering firm is seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in construction, heavy engineering, or mining. This is a senior-level role ideal for a candidate who thrives in technically complex environments and is eager to take ownership of mechanical design and project leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee the mechanical design process from concept through to completion

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of engineers and designers

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated engineering solutions

• Conduct detailed engineering calculations and prepare technical reports

• Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications

• Liaise with clients and stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met

• Oversee the preparation of mechanical drawings, specifications, and documentation

• Participate in project planning, budgeting, and scheduling

Minimum Requirements:

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering

• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the construction, heavy engineering, or mining sectors

• Proven design experience is essential

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and engineering best practices

• Ability to manage multiple projects and lead engineering teams

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Professional registration (or eligibility) is advantageous
