A leading steel producer in the stainless steel industry is looking for an experienced Manager: Supply Chain & Distribution with strong experience in supply chain, logistics and export shipping to join their team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. This role will lead distribution, inventory and export operations for a fully integrated stainless steel manufacturing operation with domestic and international supply chains.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage supply chain and distribution functions including warehousing, inventory control, and export shipping

• Drive operational performance aligned with business strategy, KPIs and cost-efficiency objectives

• Oversee finished goods inventory (FGI) and work-in-progress (WIP) accuracy and availability

• Manage external processing and logistics service providers

• Supervise invoice administration related to distribution and export logistics

• Coordinate transport, containerisation, import/export logistics and weighbridge operations

• Control and optimise distribution and transportation costs

• Maintain cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Procurement, Commercial and Operations Planning

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations or related field (or equivalent diploma plus management development program)

• Minimum of 6 years’ relevant experience at a senior supply chain or logistics level with people management responsibility

• Proven track record in inventory management, logistics operations and export documentation

• Experience in export shipping, container logistics and stakeholder engagement

• Strong financial acumen, planning, leadership and negotiation skills

• Willingness to relocate and work on-site in Middelburg (not a remote role)
