We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Middelburg, Mpumalanga. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. Duties may include performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and conducting inspections to ensure vehicles are in optimal working condition.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines, as well as mechanical and electrical systems on vehicles and equipment
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Troubleshoot and identify mechanical issues, and develop repair plans
- Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards and regulations
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed
- Follow manufacturer guidelines for repairs and maintenance procedures
- Test driving vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs

Requirements:
- Grade 12 or similar qualification
- Trade Test Certificate as a Diesel Mechanic
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in diesel mechanics, preferably within the mining or heavy machinery sector
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Proficient in using tools and diagnostic equipment
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
- Vehicles: Excavators, Loaders, Fork-lifts, Side loaders, Trucks, Tractors, LDVs.
- CAT machines experience with KRESS & TML attachments is a plus.
- Advanced Hydraulic and Auto Electrical experience required.
- Workshop and Field Work: Preventative, breakdown, and planned maintenance.
- Shift Work and Standby Duty may be required.
- Overtime as needed.
- Forklift and Overhead Crane Licences are a plus.
