A leading player in the South African edible oils and fats industry is looking for a powerhouse Head of Supply Chain to steer their logistics and procurement strategy to new heights.

This is a pivotal role for a seasoned professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-output manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for the end-to-end supply chain function, ensuring that production meets demand with seamless efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Oversight: Develop and execute a comprehensive supply chain strategy that aligns with long-term business goals and operational excellence.

  • Procurement & Sourcing: Lead high-level negotiations and manage supplier relationships to ensure cost-effectiveness and raw material quality.

  • Logistics & Distribution: Optimize warehousing, fleet management, and distribution networks to ensure timely delivery across regional and national footprints.

  • Inventory Management: Implement robust systems for stock control, minimizing waste while ensuring 100% service levels.

  • Financial Management: Oversee the supply chain budget, focusing on cost reduction and process optimization without compromising on quality.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and manage a multi-disciplinary team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.


Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in a management role within Supply Chain or Logistics.

  • Ability to manage large staff workforce and multinational supply chains beneficial.
  • Industry Focus: Proven track record in FMCG, Oil, or Dairy sectors is highly preferred.

  • Education: A relevant Bachelor’s Degree is a minimum requirement. A Post-Graduate degree or Masters (MBA/MSc) will be considered a significant advantage.

  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of ERP systems, demand planning, and international logistics.

  • Attributes: Exceptional negotiation skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to lead under pressure in a manufacturing environment.
