A leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Production Manager with strong experience in production operations, team leadership, and continuous improvement to join their team in the East Rand, Gauteng. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating all production activities within a manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient output, high-quality standards, and alignment with operational and financial objectives. This role requires a hands-on leader capable of driving productivity, optimizing processes, and managing a high-performing production environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and manage daily production operations to meet output, quality, and delivery targets
  • Lead and supervise production teams to ensure optimal performance, motivation, and compliance with company policies
  • Monitor production data, KPIs, and efficiency metrics to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity, reduce waste, and optimize resources
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
  • Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams for smooth operations
  • Oversee production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Manage production costs and track variances against budgets
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards in line with 5S or similar methodologies
  • Support the implementation of new processes, products, and equipment
  • Prepare and present production reports and insights to senior management

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Production Manager role within a manufacturing environment (not supervisory level)
  • Strong leadership and people management experience in a high-performance environment
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and lean principles
  • Experience with KPI tracking, data analysis, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Knowledge of ISO standards, quality systems, and safety regulations
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Office
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
