Salary: R40k per month (maximum)

They are looking for a skilled Intermediate Construction Project Manager to join their team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have experience managing construction projects through all stages, from initiation to completion.

Job Description:
As an Intermediate Construction Project Manager, you will oversee the successful execution of various multi-disciplinary projects in the industrial, commercial, residential, and retail sectors. You will be responsible for managing projects from stage 1 through to stage 6, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management from Start to Finish:

    • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle, from conceptualization (stage 1) to final handover (stage 6).
    • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects meet specifications, budgets, and deadlines.
    • Develop and manage project timelines, schedules, and resources to ensure timely delivery.
    • Monitor project progress and resolve any issues or delays that may arise.
  • Budget & Cost Management:

    • Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring cost control throughout the project.
    • Approve and process invoices, variations, and change orders.
    • Provide regular financial reporting to senior management and clients.
  • Team & Stakeholder Coordination:

    • Lead and coordinate teams of contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
    • Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure all requirements are met.
    • Ensure effective communication across all parties involved in the project.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:

    • Ensure projects comply with all relevant regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols.
    • Conduct regular site visits to monitor quality and progress.
    • Address any quality or safety concerns promptly.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:

    • 3-5 years of experience in construction project management.
    • Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary projects (industrial, commercial, residential, and retail).
    • Knowledge of all project phases from stage 1 to stage 6, including budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Skills:

    • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage timelines, budgets, and teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
    • Solid understanding of construction processes, safety regulations, and quality control standards.
  • Other Requirements:

    • Must have your own car and a valid driver’s license.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
