A leading plastics and packaging manufacturing company is looking for an experienced Plant Manager with strong expertise in production management, maintenance, and quality assurance to join their team in Bronkhorstspruit. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in lean manufacturing, team leadership, and process optimization, with specific knowledge of blow moulding and injection moulding. This role requires a results-driven professional with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive operational excellence while ensuring compliance with company objectives, quality systems, and customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee manufacturing operations to align with production plans.

  • Drive continuous improvement programs to enhance efficiency and quality.

  • Manage cost structures, monitor budgets, and implement cost-reduction measures.

  • Ensure production output, product quality, and on-time delivery targets are met.

  • Plan, organize, and run daily plant operations effectively while minimizing waste.

  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing processes.

  • Develop and manage systems to track and optimize productivity, OEE, and resource allocation.

  • Lead, motivate, and develop plant staff, addressing performance, grievances, and recruitment needs.

  • Oversee asset maintenance to ensure optimal results and production uptime.

  • Collect and analyze operational data to identify and eliminate inefficiencies.

  • Commit to plant safety, legal compliance, and adherence to company policies.

  • Build strong relationships with workers and collaborate with management teams on strategic initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business, engineering, or related field (preferred).

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in manufacturing/production (required).

  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.

  • Blow moulding and injection moulding knowledge/experience.

  • Excellent problem-solving and data analysis skills.

  • Results-driven with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to handle conflict and motivate teams effectively.
