A leading global player in the high-tech defense and security industry is seeking a strategic and results-driven Senior Sales Manager to join their specialized team. This role is pivotal in driving international growth and managing high-value portfolios within the defense systems, ammunition, and weapons sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for navigating complex procurement processes and fostering long-term partnerships with governmental and private defense entities.
Responsibilities
Strategic Market Expansion: Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to increase market share within the global defense and security sectors.
Key Account Management: Act as the primary point of contact for high-level stakeholders, ensuring deep integration with client requirements and long-term retention.
Contract Negotiation: Lead the end-to-end negotiation process for multi-million-dollar defense contracts, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and organizational goals.
Product Expertise: Provide technical and commercial oversight for specialized product lines, including advanced weapon systems and ammunition solutions.
Pipeline Management: Maintain an accurate and robust sales forecast, identifying emerging trends and competitive threats within the defense landscape.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure that client specifications are met and delivered within strict timelines.
Requirements
Industry Experience: A proven track record (typically 8+ years) in a senior sales or business development role specifically within defense systems, ammunition, or weapons manufacturing.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Management, or a related technical field.
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of ballistics, defense electronics, or armored systems is highly advantageous.
Networking Capability: Existing relationships with key defense procurement agencies and a deep understanding of the regulatory environment (including ITAR/export controls).
Communication Skills: Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical solutions to non-technical executive audiences.
Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally, to meet with clients and attend industry exhibitions.
