Job Description

Hire Resolves' client is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their team as a Buyer in Cape Town. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and negotiating contracts for goods and materials needed by the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management, excellent communication skills, and the ability to analyze market trends to ensure the best purchasing decisions are made.

Responsibilities:
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure favorable agreements.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs and requirements.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
  • Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular performance evaluations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all purchases, contracts, and pricing information.
  • Analyze market trends and pricing data to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Proactively identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to optimize procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to track and manage budgetary constraints.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using purchasing software and other relevant computer applications.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
  • Familiarity with local and international suppliers and markets.
