Job Specification: Bookkeeper in Manufacturing Industry - Cape Town

Position Overview:
Hire Resolve's client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join their manufacturing company in Cape Town. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in bookkeeping, strong analytical skills, and a solid understanding of finance and accounting principles in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including accounts payable/receivable, expenses, and revenue.
  • Prepare and process monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and accounting standards.
  • Record all financial transactions, including sales, purchases, stock movements, and production costs, ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports to support management decision-making.
  • Conduct regular bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow, ensuring sufficient funds are available for operational needs.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external auditors to ensure compliance with financial regulations and provide necessary documentation during audits.
  • Manage and reconcile stock inventories, coordinating with production and warehousing teams to ensure accurate valuation and control of goods.
  • Process payroll and maintain accurate records of staff salaries, benefits, and deductions.
  • Assist in preparing tax returns and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on industry changes and advancements in financial software and tools to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.


Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or similar role in a manufacturing industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Experience working with bookkeeping software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently, meeting deadlines with high quality work.
  • Knowledge of South African tax laws and regulations is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity, ensuring data security and accuracy.
  • Professional certification in bookkeeping, such as Certified Bookkeeper, is a plus.
