An established company in the marine and metal fabrication industry is seeking a Designer to join their dynamic team in Montagu Gardens, Cape Town.

The ideal candidate is an intuitive, hands-on designer with approximately 5 years of practical experience in welding, building, or fabrication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop innovative marine and metal products (masts, structures, components)
• Work hands-on with prototypes and fabrication processes
• Translate concepts into detailed designs using Autocad and Solidworks
• Collaborate with a small, dynamic team of designers and engineers
• Contribute to continuous improvement of design processes and product quality

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years hands-on design/fabrication experience
• Proficiency in Autocad and Solidworks (mandatory)
• Experience in welding or building, ideally in boat building or metal fabrication
• Diploma in engineering, welding, or draughting is an advantage
• Intuitive and innovative; able to create designs from scratch
