An established IT company is seeking a highly driven and experienced Engineer: Client, Server and Storage to join their team in Cape Town, Western Cape .

The Engineer will be responsible for deploying and maintaining infrastructure solutions across the organisation’s portfolio, including technologies from Dell, HPE, Huawei, and other supported vendors.

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications such as Dell EMC, HPE ASE/ATP, Huawei HCIA/HCIP, VMware or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in server and storage implementation and support.
  • Proven expertise in server virtualisation, storage area networks (SAN), and backup solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Dell, HPE, and Huawei technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of server and storage architectures and technologies.
  • Proficiency in virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V.

 Responsibilities: 

  • Design and deploy tailored server, client, and storage solutions.
  • Install, configure, and optimise servers, SANs, NAS systems, and client devices.
  • Implement virtualisation and high-availability systems.
  • Integrate storage with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Conduct regular system health checks and maintenance.
  • Monitor infrastructure performance and ensure uptime.
  • Resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues.
  • Manage firmware and software updates for performance and compliance.
  • Liaise with clients to assess infrastructure needs and propose solutions.
  • Provide technical support and training to clients.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex technical problems.
  • Engage vendor support teams for issue resolution and advice.
  • Use vendor tools to improve deployments and ongoing support.
  • Maintain compliance with partner requirements and certifications.
  • Maintain documentation on system setups, deployments, and changes.
  • Generate performance, incident, and project status reports.
  • Develop technical documentation and user training resources.
  • Keep professional certifications current.
  • Support the attainment and maintenance of vendor partnerships.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and certification opportunities.
  • Optimise system performance to meet evolving demands.
  • Recommend infrastructure upgrades to improve scalability.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and sales teams.
  • Share expertise to build internal technical capabilities.
