An established IT company is seeking a highly driven and experienced Account Manager to join their team in Cape Town, Western Cape . This dynamic role focuses on expanding and managing relationships with both public and private sector clients. The successful candidate will promote a full range of services including Data Protection (Backup), Servers, Storage, HCI, Cloud, and Microsoft Services.

This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in both hunting for new business and farming existing accounts, and who is passionate about delivering strategic IT solutions tailored to client needs.

Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the main point of contact for client queries and escalations
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships
  • Conduct regular client meetings to assess needs and offer tailored solutions
  • Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities
  • Promote Diopoint’s full suite of services across sectors
  • Collaborate with technical teams to deliver customised proposals
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Conduct client reviews to track satisfaction and future needs
  • Ensure excellent customer service to foster long-term partnerships
  • Understand government procurement and private sector trends
  • Align strategies with sector-specific needs and requirements
  • Maintain CRM records and provide regular reporting on account performance
  • Share insights and pipeline status with management
  • Partner with technical and operational teams for seamless service delivery
  • Support marketing initiatives and attend cross-functional meetings

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, IT or a related field
  • Certifications in sales/account management are an advantage
  • 8–10 years of IT Technical Sales experience
  • 6–8 years of Account Management experience, particularly in the Public Sector
  • Strong knowledge of ICT Client Services, including End-User Devices and Boardroom Equipment
  • Proven track record in both private and government sector account management
  • Strong understanding of Data Protection, Servers, Storage, HCI, Cloud, and Microsoft Solutions
  • Excellent relationship-building, communication, and negotiation skills
  • Solid understanding of government tender and procurement processes
  • CRM proficiency and analytical mindset
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Business acumen and compliance awareness
