Join a High-Performance Corporate Finance Team

A respected investment and advisory firm is seeking a commercially astute Corporate Finance Associate to join their team in Johannesburg. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified CA(SA) with extensive experience in valuations, due diligence, and deal execution who is looking to deepen their involvement in portfolio engagement and the transaction lifecycle.

You’ll be part of a dynamic, tight-knit team working on high-impact deals across multiple industries. This role offers exposure to complex, unlisted investments and a collaborative environment where performance, ownership, and precision are highly valued.

Role Overview

As an Associate, you will take responsibility for the full valuation and transaction support process, work closely with portfolio companies, and be actively involved in driving investment decisions. You will also be responsible for managing detailed due diligence processes, compiling high-quality investment proposals, and preparing accurate financial reports.

Your ability to apply advanced valuation techniques and your commercial insight will be critical to the success of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct in-depth valuations using various methodologies including Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), EV/EBITDA, EV/EBIT, Price/Earnings (P/E), and Price/Net Asset Value (P/NAV)

• Perform comprehensive financial analysis of companies and financial statements to assess investment potential

• Lead and complete thorough due diligence on prospective deals

• Draft discussion papers and investment proposals for transaction committees

• Manage and maintain reporting relationships with portfolio companies

• Ensure timely and accurate submission of all reports and documentation

• Participate in ongoing engagement and oversight of portfolio companies post-investment

• Uphold a strong standard of quality, reliability, and collaboration across all deliverables

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) – non-negotiable

• Minimum of 6 years post-articles experience, with at least 3 years in a corporate finance or investment role

• Strong track record in financial modelling, valuations, and due diligence

• Demonstrated ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and present recommendations confidently

• High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

• Commercially strong with a problem-solving mindset and results-oriented work ethic
  

• Excellent interpersonal and team collaboration skills

Remuneration
