We are seeking a talented and experienced Designer specializing in plastic moulding to join our client. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial design, product development, and material science. They will be responsible for creating innovative and functional designs that meet the requirements of our clients and align with industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop moulds for rigid plastic product manufacturing

• Manage complete projects from concept through to industrialization

• Design components based on briefs, advising on material selection and functionality

• Oversee and support mould trials, providing all necessary technical information to trial staff

• Participate in sourcing and selection of mould components

• Collaborate closely with toolmakers during all stages of mould design and manufacturing

• Maintain and regularly update the mould and drawing database

• Troubleshoot issues related to components and moulds to ensure smooth production

• Manage technical projects focused on toolroom and production process improvements

• Initiate or actively participate in various development and improvement projects

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in plastic design and product development
- Proficiency in SolidWorks
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with injection molding, blow molding, and thermoforming processes
- Knowledge of sustainability and recyclability principles in plastic design
- Familiarity with prototyping tools and techniques (3D printing, CNC machining, etc.)
- Background in consumer electronics, packaging, or medical device design
