Location: Johannesburg, South Africa (Onsite)

A dynamic and experienced DC Inventory Manager is sought to oversee and manage inventory control processes within a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, strategic thinking capabilities, and a hands-on approach to ensuring inventory accuracy, warehouse optimisation, and process improvement.
This role involves leading inventory operations, enhancing supply chain performance, and managing a team to meet organisational goals efficiently
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate inventory records and enforce movement procedures.
- Conduct daily cyclical and perpetual inventory counts.
- Investigate and resolve stock variances and discrepancies.
- Optimise stock slotting based on movement categories.
- Oversee warehouse slot utilisation and maximise space efficiency.
- Manage slow-moving and underperforming stock items.
- Monitor and balance picking volumes across warehouse zones.
- Ensure accurate order fulfilment and address picking errors.
- Oversee receiving processes and ensure supplier deliveries are correctly processed.
- Manage Total Product Management (TPM) including expiry tracking and damage prevention.
- Coordinate the Annual Financial Stocktake and manage related processes.
- Compile and analyse daily, weekly, and monthly inventory reports.
- Track shrinkage and discrepancies.
- Provide real-time inventory movement and productivity data.
- Maintain audit trails and ensure compliance documentation is accurate.
- Deliver reports on key performance indicators and stock readiness.
- Lead, train, and develop the Inventory Team.
- Implement performance management and staff development plans.
- Monitor and enforce productivity targets.
- Address performance concerns promptly and effectively.
- Apply best practices in inventory and warehouse management.
- Conduct regular safety audits and ensure OHS compliance.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organised warehouse.
- Ensure accurate onboarding of suppliers and maintenance of master data.
- Confirm all items are barcoded and correctly registered in systems.
- Maintain up-to-date stock attributes and dimensions.
Requirements:
- BCom in Logistics, Diploma in Supply Chain Management / Logistics, Degree in Industrial Engineering, or SAPICS certification.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in Inventory or DC Operations, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel in particular).
