Our client is looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team in Port Elizabeth. The successful candidate will lead the engineering division in delivering high-quality, turnkey engineered solutions within the automotive and industrial automation sectors. This is a dynamic role ideal for an experienced professional with a background in Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering who is passionate about innovation, system efficiency, and technical excellence. The company operates in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with a strong footprint in the automotive industry and a growing international presence.
Responsibilities:
Lead, mentor, and coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team across design, mechanical, electrical, and systems integration functions
Oversee the technical execution of projects from concept through to commissioning
Ensure all engineering deliverables meet internal quality standards, customer requirements, and compliance obligations
Collaborate with project management, production, and installation departments
Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and innovation
Manage engineering budgets, schedules, and resource planning
Requirements:
Degree or Diploma in Mechatronic or Mechanical Engineering
5–7 years of experience in an engineering leadership role, preferably in automation, manufacturing, or industrial sectors
Proven ability to manage cross-functional engineering teams
Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and project coordination abilities
