Responsibilities
Full bookkeeping function using Xero, including:
Bank reconciliations
Debtors and creditors
Invoicing and payment allocations
Monthly journals and VAT submissions
Client liaison:
Calling and following up on outstanding payments
Handling customer account queries professionally and timeously
Supplier management:
Recording and reconciling supplier invoices
Managing supplier contracts via Zoho
Collaboration with CFO on monthly and project-specific reporting
Assist in financial project tracking using Zoho Projects and Simpro (training will be provided)
Support year-end audit preparations and financial reviews
Requirements
Minimum 3–5 years of proven bookkeeping experience
Proficient in Xero (or similar accounting systems)
Experience with Zoho and/or Simpro beneficial but not essential (training will be provided)
Fluent in English and Afrikaans (must be confident communicating with clients in both languages)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills – must be comfortable speaking to clients on the phone regarding outstanding accounts
Ability to work independently, yet collaboratively with the CFO and broader finance team
High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
Industry background in engineering, energy, construction, or technical services is advantageous, but not essential
Tertiary qualification in Accounting/Bookkeeping preferred
