Position Title: Call Centre Operator (Logistics)
Location: Pretoria, Gauteng
Salary: R10,000 – R15,000 per month
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Industry: Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation
Work Schedule: Shift Rotation – 3 Days On / 3 Days Off

  • Day Shift: 06:00 – 18:00
  • Night Shift: 18:00 – 06:0
Hire Resolves Client a well-established logistics company is seeking a dedicated Call Centre Operator to join their dynamic team. The role operates within a 24/7/365 call centre and requires excellent coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in logistics and transport, and be able to manage operations, breakdowns, and journey monitoring efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Gr 12 or equivalent (required)
  • Diploma or similar in Logistics or Transport Management (advantage but not essential)
  • 2-3 years’ experience in similar position within the logistics & transport industry
  • English (must), Afrikaans (desired) and other official language (advantage)
  • Willing to work shifts (including weekends)

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Receive and log breakdown calls from drivers.
  • Coordinate repairs with relevant truck dealerships or approved service providers.
  • Maintain communication with Fleet Controllers and provide continuous updates.
  • Complete the daily breakdown book and ensure timely handover to admin personnel.
  • Escalate uncertain repair issues to the Technical Manager or Foreman.
  • Authorize diesel refueling at approved stations.
  • Provide drivers with diesel authorization numbers.
  • Accurately record litres, date, time, kilometres, and fleet number in the system.
  • Capture loading and offloading details (client, location, mass, time, kilometres).
  • Monitor real-time vehicle movements and detect unauthorized route deviations.
  • Contact drivers for explanations on deviations and alert Fleet Controller when needed.
  • Ensure adherence to designated routes and sleep plans.
  • Contact drivers to confirm readiness to depart as per journey schedules.
  • Activate incident response protocols in the event of accidents or hijackings.
  • Coordinate booking requests for pool vehicles.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report any damage or issues.
  • Liaise with Technical Manager for maintenance and issue resolution.
