Responsibilities
Underwriting and Policy Administration
Issue new policies, renewals, and endorsements using the C360 system
Prepare new business quotes
Underwrite in line with established standards, policies, and procedures
Support the sales team in acquiring and retaining profitable business
Handle all policy documentation and ensure accuracy and compliance
Review and authorise documentation before dispatch
Resolve queries according to company protocols
Negotiate renewal terms and prepare renewal documents
Conduct timely renewal reviews and calculate retentions
Request, monitor, and follow up on surveys as required
Identify and correct unprofitable policies
Ensure adequate risk exposure levels across policies
Final review of policies before delivery to clients
Provide client support through telephone communication for queries or amendments
Maintain organised electronic records of all work
Customer Service Delivery
Ensure service and quality levels meet required outputs and standards
Resolve escalated customer complaints and provide appropriate feedback
Align daily routines with operational plans to meet service delivery targets
Contribute to the creation of new service delivery standards and procedures

Share product, process, and system knowledge with colleagues
Collaborate effectively with the underwriting team to meet service goals
Continuous Improvement
Adhere to all organisational policies and practices
Identify and recommend improvements to underwriting and administrative processes
Requirements
Education & Qualifications
Matric (Grade 12)
NQF Level 5 in Short-Term Insurance
Regulatory Exam Level 1
Minimum of 5 years relevant commercial underwriting experience
Confirmation of DOFA from the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA)
Experience with the Cardinal 360 system is advantageous
Knowledge
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of commercial insurance products and the financial services industry
